Description

This work captures a peaceful stroll along the Thiers Pier in Arcachon, bathed in the soft light of dawn or dusk. An elegant woman walks forward with a bright yellow bag, while benches, lampposts, and moored boats create a serene scene. Between pastel skies and a poetic atmosphere, the painting illustrates the harmony between man and nature, while highlighting the unique charm of this iconic pier in the Arcachon Bay.

Sophie Griotto, born in 1975 in Alès and based in Montpellier, is a renowned French illustrator. Trained in applied arts, she began her career in Paris in 1998 for major fashion houses such as Dior, Givenchy, and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Since 2003, she has devoted herself to a freelance career, where her unique style highlights modern femininity through the interplay of attitudes, fabrics, and colors. She then adds her graphic elements to an ink base using a digital tablet. Revealed in 2013 by Taschen among the world's leading illustrators, she has exhibited since 2016 and is listed on Artprice.

Presentation

Sophie Griotto was born in 1975 in Alès. She studied applied arts in Nîmes and then in Toulouse before moving to Paris where she worked for a large advertising agency. In 1988, she started working as a freelancer, as a storyboarder, which led her to make films for prestigious houses such as Dior or Jean-Paul Gaultier. She then decided to turn to illustration in 2003.

Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.

In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
