Description
Energypted alien data by Soklak Elgato unfolds a network of golden signs on a black ground, somewhere between calligraphy and code. Embroidered in relief, the gold thread catches the light and shifts the reading of the signs as the lighting changes.
Born in Paris in 1977, Soklak Elgato discovered graffiti at the age of eight in the metro and tagged his first walls in 1995. His work, centred on lettering and the urban world, plays with colour, transparency and light within a geometric construction. He belongs to the generation of artists who brought graffiti into the studio.
Limited edition of 20, 2021. 40 × 40 cm, 46 × 46 × 4 cm framed. Embroidered in the VANGART workshop in Lyon, which holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label (France's official mark of craft excellence).
