Description
This surreal artwork captivates with its dreamlike landscape, merging the boundaries of reality and imagination.
Dominating the scene is a colossal figure with an exaggerated mustache, wearing a vibrant orange hat, evoking a sense of whimsical authority. Beside him, a rider, seemingly lost in thought, sits on a pink horse, reflecting a calm yet questioning journey. The landscape is punctuated by split imagery—a face half-merged with the scenery, its features fragmented yet expressive, leading the eye to a blue horse poised mid-stride, suggesting motion and grace. The sky, adorned with cartoonish clouds, adds an airy lightness, while distant red-roofed houses inject warmth and familiarity. Each element is masterfully articulated, creating a vivid tapestry that invites viewers to explore its layers, challenging perceptions and evoking curiosity.
This artwork is a compelling exploration of identity and surrealism, seamlessly blending everyday elements with fantastical whimsy.
Presentation
Polish painter and graphic designer, Czeslaw Tumielewicz was born in 1942.
In 1968, he studied at the Architecture faculty of Gdank, before continuing his course at the Technical University in the same city, and then he taught there1994 onwards. He completed his training at the Fine Arts Academy of Poznan in 1978.
An exterior painter, Czeslaw Tumielewicz doesn't hesitate to take out his easel. He likes to be surrounded by moving nature and captures the variations of time quickly. Immensely inspired by his environment, he has a passion for mountains, especially sea but also architecture and individuals.
Always cheerful, his acrylic paintings are mostly colorful but they are also in black and white sometimes. Czeslaw Tumielewicz defines his style as "realism magic", he therefore portrays figurative art, but the scenes are sometimes unreal.
