Description
This composition plays on a radical contrast. The red saturates the space and defines an architectural structure. Broken lines cut the surface into irregular segments.
The aquatint brings a matte and dense depth to the color. The white of the paper emerges in fragments. It creates a jerky visual rhythm.
The gaze circulates between the solids and the voids. The forms evoke a deconstructed grid or a stylized urban view. The balance rests on the tension between geometric rigor and the spontaneity of the line.
The artist works here the compression of space. The force of the red dominates the composition without ever stifling the light of the background.
This 2015 print is distinguished by its technical precision. It is a limited edition made with a rigorous mastery of engraving.
The final rendering emphasizes the sharpness of the contours and the homogeneity of the pigment.
