Description
A vivid exploration of form and color. This artwork captures a singular poetic spirit. The composition blends a whimsical portrait with handwritten reflections. A bright magenta background pushes the central figure forward. Bold greens and deep blues create a striking chromatic contrast. The figure possesses a naïve charm. Soft curves and simplified shapes speak to an idealist vision. The gaze is wide and curious. A small white bird rests tenderly in the figure's arms. This gesture evokes a sense of protection and innocence. The artist employs a precise aquagravure technique to achieve these saturated tones. Every line feels spontaneous yet intentional. The integration of text adds an intimate layer of storytelling. It transforms the image into a personal dialogue between the creator and the viewer. This piece reflects a lifelong dedication to humanizing the world through art. The result is an uplifting celebration of simplicity. The artwork concludes with a delicate signature on the lower edge of the vibrant paper.
Presentation
Juan Ripollès, Spanish artist been born in 1932, display under our eyes a universe singular, poetic and colored in thousand faces. Inspired by the human face and the nature, he exercises his talent with a big diversity of techniques (painting, sculpture, engraving) and of materials (bronze, glass, resin, industrial painting).
The visible naivety of its works lets perceive the character of the artist: idealist, independent and revolutionary. Orphan from his youngest age, he works during his childhood to feed the rest of the family, and it is, accidentally, in the workshop of an industrial painter that he discovers the painting and appropriates it. Self-taught in his early years, he attends then the class course of drawing proposed by the institute Ribalta of the city of Castellon to perfecting himself.
"The art, it is to humanize the horror's experiments" Ripollès, TVE, on 1997."
