Description
The image captures a striking contrast between wild nature and consumerism. An arctic landscape stretches under a pale sky. Snow dominates the composition. A polar bear observes a solitary igloo.
The disruptive element emerges with a famous sign. The yellow and red logo rises on a rudimentary post. This intrusion marks the expansion of the industrial world into the most isolated corners of the planet.
The technique relies on digital printing with sharp colors. The black line emphasizes the rigor of the cold. An intense red spot saturates the upper right corner. It evokes an alert or a wound inflicted on the landscape.
The approach is in line with street art codes. The tone is ironic and critical. The scene questions the human presence and the impact of global brands on the environment.
This piece is part of a limited edition series. It plays on the visual dissonance to alert about the fragility of ecosystems. The whole ends with a discreet signature in the lower right corner.
Presentation
"An artist who makes the sidewalk and art counting for nothing in Saint-Etienne." This is how, in a few words, Ladamenrouge presents himself.
For about ten years, he has realized about two hundred works. The artist has fun with everything he finds on the ground, the walls or in the street. "I never plan in advance what I'm going to do, it's really random.
In front of a blank page, I am unable to draw something, I need to be stimulated by what surrounds me," he explains.
His goal is to create a work that blends in with the environment: "I am satisfied when people don't immediately notice one of my drawings." Inspired by the street, his works are often humorous. "I did some political caricatures but I was not very comfortable, I prefer to be funny," he says.
