Description
This artwork features an innovative typographic design that creatively spells out "happy studio" in bold, black letters against a textured beige background. The letterforms are geometric and playful, exhibiting circular and rectangular shapes that interlock harmoniously. A standout feature is a red asterisk nestled within the composition, adding a splash of color and drawing the eye. The arrangement of letters vertically engages viewers, challenging them to explore the textual puzzle presented. This piece masterfully blends minimalist aesthetics with dynamic visual intrigue, making it a compelling example of modern typographic art.
Presentation
After graduating, she worked for five years at MTV Networks, where she worked on the "Gutterpups" show. Wanting to expand her creative life beyond graphic design, Chie Araki returned to SVA to study Fine Arts and post-graduated in 2012.
The artist invented the name « Bearömixx » to describe her own style and favorite character. It's a bear drawn with circles and simple geometric shapes whose facial expressions change to express various emotions of our daily life.
Araki's art was deeply influenced by the designs of the 70's, the Japanese Kawai culture, animism or even mind-expanding designs. The combination of designer concepts and an artistic approach is the foundation of her « Bearömixx » style.
Chie Araki has exhibited at many galleries in the world, including Allegra La Viola Gallery (NY), Space Womb Gallery (NY), Nord Art (Germany), Liquid Room (Italy) and was shortlisted for te London International Creative Competition in 2013. She also exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2015.
