Description
To suggest is much stronger than to show ... It is the power of abstract art, than to speak directly to the soul, ignoring cultural barriers. Here, the artist offers us a form of great apparent simplicity, as if made in a single gesture. It is a very dynamic composition, which leaves us free a large space of imagination. When we approach it, we discover a unique patina, with absolutely incredible shades, which goes to deep black, with in places fine glitter ... The whole is protected by a thick glossy varnish, which gives a lot of chandelier overall. This sculpture was made for indoor display, and does not require any maintenance. So where are you going to place this work?
Presentation
Born in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville is the artist of the Living Curve. His work, disseminated in France and internationally, has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, publications, and has been included in private and public collections (notably that of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia).
Drawing on expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking, and committed to an eco-responsible approach, his creative process engages memory, the unconscious, and the imagination. For 30 years, he has explored the possibilities of the "Living Curve," a source of inspiration, an expressive language, and the guiding thread of his work. The numerous media, materials, and themes he explores are never an end in themselves, but rather a means of approaching and experiencing a universal consciousness.
His work results in a world of organic, “living" forms, figurative or not; forms that are simple in appearance and open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's memories and imagination. Gaël Rouxeville's art is less intellectual than sensual. It's an invitation to let go, to welcome, to stop searching... Like these curves that stretch and relax, it suddenly seems that time is elongating. The boundaries that appeared so clear become blurred, shifting... The mind then floats, as if levitating; a dance of space and time!
