Description
Avec Maman is one of the artist's most recent works. The subject treated here is the family, and more precisely the mother-child bond...
Whether we interpret it as a kiss between mother and child, or as the mother bird who "gives the kiss", it is This is a piece of great tenderness, which brings back a whole lot of memories and emotions linked to our childhood, and/or our journey as parents. Artistically, the artist was able to give a lot of dynamism to this work which, paradoxically, illustrates a fairly static moment. The leaning branch, on the verge of imbalance, clearly illustrates the fragility of this delicate and sensitive moment.
Made entirely of solid wood (oak, ivy and pine), this sculpture is a unique piece. The finishes are one of the specificities of this artist, with lacquer on wood, and colors evoking copper and brass.

Presentation
Born in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville is the artist of the Living Curve. His work, disseminated in France and internationally, has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, publications, and has been included in private and public collections (notably that of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia).
Drawing on expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking, and committed to an eco-responsible approach, his creative process engages memory, the unconscious, and the imagination. For 30 years, he has explored the possibilities of the "Living Curve," a source of inspiration, an expressive language, and the guiding thread of his work. The numerous media, materials, and themes he explores are never an end in themselves, but rather a means of approaching and experiencing a universal consciousness.
His work results in a world of organic, “living" forms, figurative or not; forms that are simple in appearance and open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's memories and imagination. Gaël Rouxeville's art is less intellectual than sensual. It's an invitation to let go, to welcome, to stop searching... Like these curves that stretch and relax, it suddenly seems that time is elongating. The boundaries that appeared so clear become blurred, shifting... The mind then floats, as if levitating; a dance of space and time!
