Presentation

She was born on 4th May,1960 in Nantes in a family of artists who collected bronzes from the Italian Renaissance period, monumental sculpture had always been part of Elisabeth Cibot's entourage. She was delighted to rediscover this during her studies at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, in the studios of Etienne Martin, Léopold Kretz and César. She graduated in 1983, moreover she worked as an assistant to Riccardo Licata, the painter at the Centro Internazionale di Grafica in Venice between 1981 and 1983 and as a guest artist at the Glass School of Harvey Littleton in Spruce Pine (USA) in 1983. She moved back to Paris, she obtained a studio in the City in 1984. Side by side, she pursued her studies in art of history and validated her initial thesis in 1984 in Roman Archeology, then an M.Phil in 1990 in History of Techniques. Since 1997, she has been working in Nogent-sur-Marne in a workshop for the National Foundation of Graphic and Visual Arts.

1993 was the year which marked her return to bronze statuary and large formats. Her ambition became clearer through her words "art is like a support to all our questions on the world and around the meaning of life, a path of knowledge on oneself, which makes it possible to be open with others. On this path, I look for everything, while constructing".

Elisabeth Cibot received several awards: Gold Medal from the National Society of Fine Arts in sculpture (2015), Camille Claudel Award (2013), Taylor Foundation Scholarship (2009), Autumn Fair (2003), Michel Dumont Award (French artists' fair, 2000). She exhibited gigantic works for the city of Sarrebourg, Calais (monument to Charles de Gaulle), Lyon, Nantes ... Her personal exhibitions increased in galleries in Paris, or during fairs (Neuilly), Versailles, but also abroad Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Venice ...
