Trouble Maker, 2023

Raphaelle Emery

This captivating and bold artwork, painted on a skateboard deck, stands out with its eclectic mix of bright colors and dynamic shapes.

The board, used as a canvas, gives a contemporary and urban dimension to the work, accentuating its modern aesthetic and rebellious spirit.

In the center, an enigmatic face immediately captures the gaze with huge eyes, adorned with white stars, which seem to penetrate the soul of the observer. The facial features are accentuated by shades of red and yellow that create a feeling of warmth and intensity. The hair, represented by black and wavy strokes, adds a graceful and fluid movement to the whole. The composition is enriched by the addition of various motifs and symbols: colorful flowers, a sketched hand and handwritten inscriptions.

The word “Trouble Maker" written in vibrant yellow in the middle of the board suggests a certain mischief and defiance, reinforcing the provocative nature of the work. The colors, ranging from bright red at the bottom to softer hues of blue and pink, create a harmonious degradation that guides the viewer's eye through each detail. Graphic elements, such as black crosses and space lines, provide structure while maintaining a chaotic and unbridled appearance. Signed by the artist at the bottom right, this skateboard deck transformed into a unique and striking work of art, speaks of rebellion, self-expression and the vibrant energy of urban culture.

Every inch of the board is a testament to the artist's unbridled creativity and originality, delivering a rich and unforgettable visual experience.
