Description
Unique piece, hand-signed by the artist. This sculpture is modeled in terracotta faience, patinated with acrylic and wax. The sculpture is hollow but closed at the back.Clay inspires me, as do polar bears. They are fascinating subjects, magnificent animals. Majestic, playful, expressive, and dangerous hunters... Capturing their posture, conveying this animal beauty—that is my goal. The bear sleeps, peaceful, its strength contained within. It fears nothing. Perhaps man, but he is far away. Its sense of smell would warn it. It can rest before heading out to hunt again...
Presentation
Born in 1965, Sophie Larroche has been practicing modeling for over 20 years.
Always attracted by the visual arts, she attended many workshops. Painting, drawing and modeling of the earth, with a particular affection for the sketches of living models.
In 1999, it was in Danièle Dekeyser's studio that Sophie Larroche discovered profile sculpture in front of live models. For 4 years, she will work the earth only on the human body, in front of the models and on the anatomy boards. She seeks to reveal the beauty and emotion emanating from the bodies.
The environmental emergency upsets her and pushes her to get involved in a charity. His work as a sculptor is mixed with his personal investment: to challenge the beauty of nature and its fragility.
Sophie Larroche exhibits regularly in Art Fairs and Exhibitions. She meets a curious public and seduced by her sculptures loaded with emotions and splendor of our world.
