Description
Sculpture made by hand in solid oak stained by oxidation.
Crackle lacquer, pigments and glazes, handmade with traditional technique by J.BURCH.
Forged steel base.
Transport in custom-made wooden crate.
This captivating work features a distinctive vertical panel, consisting of a ridged black base that frames a captivating red centre. The striking contrast between the deep black and bold red immediately draws the eye, creating dynamic visual tension. The central panel is adorned with abstract patterns, reminiscent of organic networks or constellations, providing intriguing depth and textural richness. Supported by a discreet foot, the piece stands elegantly, like a modernist sculpture. This creation skillfully plays with light and shadow, bringing the forms to life and emphasizing their subtle reliefs. A bold marriage of colour and texture that captures the imagination.
Presentation
Landry Clément: Woodcarver - Leaf gilder A jeweler by training, Landry Clément worked for more than 22 years in the luxury sector. Following an accident at work, the artist had to retrain and to do so undertook a training course as a woodcarver and a gilder at the ESEA (Ecole Supérieur Ebénisterie d'Avignon). Since June 2015, Landry Clément's workshop has been installed in one of the most beautiful villages in Provence in the historic center of Pernes Les Fontaines.
Landry Clément's works are very contemporary, with harmonious shapes and sculpted surfaces. “I really like working with oak and chestnut because I don't stain the woods, I oxidize them, and it is these two species that have the best rendering" Landry Clément. Gold is also a very important material in the artist's work; the small golden touches on his works highlight the unique qualities of wood.
Landry Clément received the title of Master Artisan d'Art in 2024, the highest distinction for the crafts, for his exceptional know-how and the quality of his work.
