Description
This sculptural elephant, covered in vintage black and white comic strips, embodies a remarkable fusion of modern art and popular culture. Each comic strip cutout is strategically placed to tell a continuous story, transforming the elephant's dynamic surface into a living narrative canvas. The use of humor and retro graphics evokes a sense of nostalgia while drawing the viewer's eye in minute detail. The elephant's majestic silhouette, a symbol of wisdom and strength, contrasts with the playful lightness of the images, creating a piece that is both imposing and approachable. The black background accentuates the crisp white of the comic strips, enhancing this captivating work of art that invites a close exploration of each nuance illustrated.
Presentation
Self-taught plastic artist, I develop a free, colorful, and resolutely contemporary artistic universe, nourished by the détournement of objects, pop culture, and street art aesthetics.
My journey began with more traditional techniques, notably watercolor and oil painting, which allowed me to build my artistic sensitivity and my mastery of color.
Over the years, my practice has evolved towards a more instinctive and experimental approach. Today, I work mainly with sprays, Posca, acrylics, but also with more original techniques such as 3D printing, car painting, and car varnish.
My work explores pop culture, street art, and customization, with a constant desire to create unique, original, and recognizable pieces
I like to confront materials, colors, and universes to transform everyday objects or supports into unique artistic pieces. My creations often play on the contrast between immediately recognizable characters or objects and a more contemporary graphic treatment, mixing pop culture, street art, colors, and détournement.
