Description
"Signori is therefore first and foremost a painter-painter, who masters matter, color and composition, who also controls his emotion and the processes of the appearance of evidence. It is this erudite, rigorous, lucid, referenced approach, nourished by a great knowledge of art today, which allows him to find an art of joyful spontaneity, a "primordial" art immediately graspable by all, whatever their artistic "culture". In this regard, it is significant that he attracted the attention of the Susi Brunner Gallery in Zurich, an internationally renowned gallery that only offers classics of Art Brut. This exception therefore deserves to be underlined since it is a junction between compulsive, unconscious, obsessive, pathological, raw decoding creation, legitimized by Jean Dubuffet, and a creation of an absolutely opposite nature, but which penetrates this same place of the soul that interests us, which pierces and reveals the same mystery. Jean Dubuffet was also a "painter in himself" and this is what led him to consider these native, "unpainted" expressions as a subject of painting: this humanity which nourishes plastic creation and without which this creation would hardly be an object... This same humanity that Alain Signori finds in materials humanized by use, and which gives meaning and depth to his "painting skills".
