Description
This intriguing artwork features a circular wooden sculpture, where texture and form harmoniously intersect. The dark material is precisely crafted to create curved and undulating lines evoking an almost organic fluidity. A striking geometric contrast is introduced by a crossbar, creating a modern yet natural aesthetic. The play of light and shadow is skillfully orchestrated, accentuating the reliefs and imparting visual depth. This piece is distinguished by its ability to merge the abstract and the concrete, inviting the viewer to contemplate the symbiosis between art and nature. The artist succeeds in capturing a subtle balance between simplicity and complexity, transforming wood into an elegant and evocative visual narrative.
Presentation
My universe is deeply inspired by the Neolithic world, the large-scale representations of the first traces of man, the dolmens, the menhir statues or the imposing cairns. Who are these builders, with what techniques and knowledge were they able to create these forms? It is the whole free field left by silence to these questions that is a source of inspiration, dialogue, research. And closer to us, the charm and spirituality of the temples of the 11th and 12th century of Japan.
My sculptures form a constellation of points, like a taut arc that connects us to these unfathomable origins, to nature, to space.
"I like to let myself be guided by impulses. The sculpture is built as I go along. I always try to create transparency, light effects by playing with the black of the wood licked by the flame, the orange gradients of the Douglas pine, the silver reflections of the steel.
Next to my studio, I have created a space of truth. The sculptures thus arranged must give me emotions, sensations, like a magnetic current."
