• “Women are my favorite subject. A free and multifaceted woman: active, seductive, graceful, connected. Contemporary."
-Hedwige Leroux
• Hedwig looks at the world around her and reveals our habits and attitudes in her sculpture. Hedwig's work is remarkable, singular and very contemplative... On one side there is the feminine and sensual part (the woman), on the other side the urban and modern sphere (for example the earpiece). The telephone makes us imagine new scenarios, in a story to be discovered. Communication is mainly done through emotions and moods rather than didacticism and rationality.
• Hedwige Leroux's women immediately capture attention with their elegance. Tall, slim, slender, they pose, confident in their charm and seduction. Serene, they seem detached from the instabilities of the world, these illegible revolutions. The eternal woman, emerging from a dreamlike world and imposing her delicate presence. All of Hedwige's sensitivity is revealed in these seemingly fragile models.
• But the women in Hedwige are also contemporary, anchored in today's world, whose codes and customs they appropriate. The mobile phone, for example, is an essential instrument for professional life, romantic exchanges, and self-celebration. A nod to this consented addiction.
• Hedwige's work also includes busts with patiently crafted hair that a sudden gust of wind carries away. In the secrecy of her studio, she never stops shaping the material, the earth, to recreate what her eyes have perceived, what her mind has conceived, and what her fingers will create in her instantly recognizable style, the mark of a true artist.
• In all of Hedwig's works, the question arises whether the poetic image of the aspects and phases of women's lives, you or us, in today's world... It is our inner treasure and the artist represents it with great grace and poetry.
• A clean and personal style that highlights the beauty and personality of women in today's world. The artist looks at the world around her and reveals our habits and attitudes in her sculpture.
