Description
This striking sculpture captures a figure in a poised crouch, conveying a sense of introspection and balance. Expertly crafted, it presents rugged textures that mimic natural elements, adding depth and realism to its form. The anonymous figure seems to emerge organically from its surroundings, suggesting a connection between humanity and nature. Positioned on a sleek pedestal, it contrasts starkly with the background of autumnal foliage, enhancing its serene presence. The tactile quality and detailed execution of the sculpture invite viewers to contemplate its form from multiple angles. Its simplicity is its strength, evoking a peaceful reflection while maintaining an understated elegance. This piece stands as a testament to the artist's ability to blend abstraction with realism, drawing viewers into a meditative experience.
Presentation
Capturing the power of life within an object requires more than imitation of nature.
This conviction lies at the core of Dagmar Vogt’s sculptural and artistic practice.
Dagmar Vogt received her artistic training at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, studying under Prof. Kampmann and Prof. Schubert, and completed academic training in painting with Prof. Markus Lüpertz as well as Mathias Lanfer, a master student of Tony Cragg. She also holds state examinations in art and history.
Her work focuses on human presence, inner tension and structural clarity, expressed through a reduced, powerful formal language. Working across sculpture and painting, Vogt seeks to condense vitality and emotional intensity into tangible form rather than reproducing natural appearances.
She is a member of the Malkasten Düsseldorf art association, has held teaching positions at art academies and adult education institutions, and since 2021 has served as a jury member for the Ennepe-Ruhr Art Prize.
Dagmar Vogt lives and works in Herdecke and the Allgäu region.
