Description
This intriguing sculpture depicts a human figure with elongated, exaggerated features, evoking a surreal, dreamlike presence. Crafted in a patinated green hue, the figure dons a conical headpiece, reminiscent of mythical creatures, and wears swim fins, adding a whimsical aquatic element. Strikingly modern, this piece combines elements of fantasy and reality, inviting viewers to ponder the narrative behind the character. The stance, with one hand resting thoughtfully near the chin, suggests introspection or curiosity. Standing on a minimalist base, the sculpture's smooth, flowing lines emphasize fluidity and motion, while its unique attributes challenge conventional notions of human form and identity. This artwork captivates with its bold conceptual twist, encouraging reflection on themes of transformation and the boundary between imagination and reality.
Presentation
Peter Reuterberg currently resides in Marstrand, in the archipelago of Bohuslän, Sweden. His entire life has been dedicated to drawing, painting, and sculpting. Known for his captivating artistic style often depicting people interacting harmoniously with nature, his work is brought to life through his sculptures, an interplay between introspection and observation.
Reuterberg's bronzes capture the ephemeral beauty of human interactions, the sense of wonder triggered by the natural world, evoking a sense of harmony and connection. Through his childlike innocent gaze, Reuterberg celebrates the beauty of humanity and nature, stating: “My art is a mirror reflecting both my inner landscape and the surrounding environment, capturing fleeting moments like the dance of light on water, the curve of a shoulder or the play of shadows on cliffs. Each creation invites viewers to explore these captured secrets and emotions. Through my sculptures and paintings, I invite you to step into this shared dream, where past and present intertwine, and stories find their voice."
Peter Reuterberg's art features in multiple private collections stretching from Scandinavia, to China. His art also features in many municipal art collections across Sweden and, Reuterberg has collaborated with The Nordic Watercolour Museum leading several museum workshops. In recent years he has exhibited to much acclaim in Sweden, Portugal, The Netherlands and Spain.
