Description
Glass circular object on a metal mount, created using the glass slumping technique with genuine 24-karat gold. Whenever I create slumped glass, I feel the need to infuse it with movement. The glass itself measures 37 cm in diameter, and the total height of the piece with the stand is 49 cm. Signed on the reverse side of the glass.
Presentation
Darina Szöllösiová is a renowned stained glass artist and glassmaker.
A part of my work involves creating custom stained glass pieces. I design my own artistic concepts, but I have also worked based on designs by well-known visual artists such as Miroslav Cipár or Peter Čambál. When I started out, my dream was to create windows for a church. Today, I have completed stained glass works for six churches and two funeral homes.
The greatest challenge for me was the project at the castle in Pezinok, Slovakia, where I restored and created replicas of original stained glass windows. For the hotel section, I made new stained glass for the windows, doors, and furniture; for the winery and chapel, I created stained glass based on the designs of Miroslav Cipár. The entire project took me a year and a half.
