Description
Liam Gillick, 2015. Multiple. 12 × 50.1 × 20 cm (4.7 × 19.7 × 7.9 in). Signed and numbered on Certificate, Edition of 30, In mint condition.
Gillick's work exposes the dysfunctional aspects of a modernist legacy in terms of abstraction and architecture when framed within a globalized, neo-liberal consensus. His work extends into structural rethinking of the exhibition as a form. He deploys multiple forms to expose the new ideological control systems that emerged at the beginning of the 1990s. Gillick's work has had a profound impact on a contemporary understanding of how art and architecture influence, and are themselves influenced by, interpersonal communication and interactions in the public sphere. This colorful Plexiglas structure is beautiful, and at the same time thought-provoking. "Recessed Discussion Stream" is part of the 2015 Glass House artist limited edition.
