Description
This granite sculpture depicts an ancestral ship, skillfully carved to symbolize unity and collective adventure. The human figures, precisely aligned on board, evoke a community in search of new horizons. The grainy texture of the stone accentuates the work's timeless character, evoking historical tales of travel and discovery. Each figure is carved with simplicity yet expressiveness, conveying a sense of calm and determination. The ship's robust yet elegant curves underscore the artist's technical mastery. The ensemble exudes an aura of mystery and epic adventure, inviting reflection on travel and human connection. This unique piece, with its symbolic depth and meticulous craftsmanship, inevitably captures attention, encouraging exploration of the stories it embodies.
Presentation
Antoine Savigneux's sculptures exude a striking timelessness, capturing scenes from life where emotion is anchored in stone. Self-taught, he shapes stone with patience and instinct. Each block becomes a terrain of exploration where he engages in a dialogue with the rock, exploring the limits of the material to extract a story, a fragment of reality. His work, halfway between brute force and sensitivity, invites profound contemplation, where the echo of the past meets the modernity of the artistic gesture.
