Description
This sculpture by Le Youn embodies the playful, pop spirit of our time. The artist reinterprets a universal symbol of childhood: the Chupa Chups lollipop. With this gesture, he transforms a simple everyday object into a monumental, colorful, and profoundly joyful work of art. Le Youn's approach is both nostalgic and contemporary.
The artwork immediately catches the eye with its vibrant colors and spectacular size. The giant lollipops seem to burst from the red base like a sugary explosion. This visual energy perfectly reflects the artist's approach, which is always centered on surprise and visual pleasure. By playing with the codes of marketing and popular culture, Le Youn blurs the lines between art and consumption.
Furthermore, the iconic Chupa Chups logo, originally created by Salvador Dalí, takes on a new artistic dimension here. The artist pays homage to this graphic icon while simultaneously reinventing it. Through his work with volumes and contrasts, Le Youn imbues this familiar symbol with an almost sculptural power. Thus, the viewer rediscovers an object they thought they knew.
The artwork also explores our relationship to indulgence, desire, and nostalgia. Each color evokes a flavor, a memory, or an emotion. Furthermore, the material's sheen enhances the sculpture's festive and appealing aspect. The artist invites everyone to rediscover their childhood imagination, without abandoning critical thinking.
The XVI Art Gallery will pack and ship it directly to your home, in France and abroad. Alternatively, you can pick it up immediately at our gallery in Paris.
Presentation
Born in 1981 in Paris, contemporary artist "Le Youn" draws his inspiration from the lively streets of the French capital. His artistic style is a captivating blend of pop art and street art, offering works that are both bold and vibrant.
From an early age, Le Youn showed a deep interest in colors and shapes. His first steps into the art world were influenced by drawing classes, where he discovered his passion for visual creation. However, it was the encounters with other artists in his daily life that really stimulated his desire to pursue an artistic career.
Travel holds a special place in Le Youn's life. Through his travels, he discovered numerous works and artists who enriched his creativity. Some of his creations are inspired by the themes and colors of his travels, thus adding an international dimension to his art.
A passionate and visionary artist, he transcends the boundaries of art by integrating with finesse and elegance fashion icons and luxurious brands at the heart of his artistic creations.
As a big movie buff, Le Youn also finds a great source of inspiration in cinema. Iconic franchises such as Marvel, DC Comics, comics, cartoons, manga, Disney and Pixar have left their mark on his artistic work, reflected in his creations.
What particularly sets his works apart are their vibrant colors and infectious energy. He manages to capture the spirit of childhood in his creations, using his imagination to bring to life works of art that evoke joy and spontaneity. Each work is an invitation to explore a universe filled with unique colors and shapes.
In addition to his talent as an artist, Le Youn has been working for several years in the art world as an art dealer in Paris. This experience allowed him to meet many international art collectors, further enriching his view of the artistic world.
In 2023, Le Youn launched his first series of works, and he has great aspirations for the future of his artistic career. Its commitment to colorful and vibrant art promises to continue to captivate and amaze art lovers.
