Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a majestic seated horse, exquisitely crafted from a gleaming metallic material that catches the light from various angles. Mounted on a natural wood base, the rough texture of the plinth contrasts with the smooth metal, creating a harmonious balance. The meticulous details of the flowing mane and powerful muscles testify to exceptional craftsmanship. This work manages to capture both the grace and raw strength of the horse, symbolizing serenity and power. The artist has instilled a sense of movement despite the animal's still posture, making the sculpture almost lifelike. The duality between the cool metal and the warm wood, both solid and delicate, reflects an artistic dialogue between humankind, nature, and animal.
Presentation
Influenced since childhood by nature and horses, my passion has been nurtured by a long career in equestrian practice and teaching. It is expressed daily through modelling and drawing.
I am fascinated by mould making, understanding undercuts, and different materials: the whiteness of gypsum, natural pigments for patinas. The beauty of wax that can be reworked when hot. When the liquid bronze is poured into the mould, it is freed from the cement and sprues, then chiselled to give it a finish that enhances this love of horses.
