As the daughter and granddaughter of mirror makers—back when that meant crafting silvered mirrors from clear glass—I love glass. Over the years, I've worked with it in many ways: cold, using a glass cutter or hammer, or hot, in my glassmaking furnaces, as this material lends itself to so many different techniques. The Ziggourat sculpture is the result of a hybrid process. It's made of tempered glass cubes. The glass sheet is first broken while cold; then the small glass cubes must be collected, removing the fine needles that detach from them, and arranged in "layers" before being slowly melted in the furnace. Once finished, the piece is sandblasted, giving it a soft, frosted, lunar appearance.
After my studies, I worked for 10 years at Dassault where I managed the air operations service for business jets. I stopped for a few years to raise my children, a period during which I followed various courses: drawing and painting (American Center, workshops of the Museum of Decorative Arts ...) then as I quickly became interested in glass, courses learning to work with hot glass in an oven.
I joined the Maison des Artistes in 1999, and since then I have produced sculptures, bas-reliefs on canvas and installations where this material played a predominant role. Little by little, I gave up working with glass, occupied by writing plays. Then I created a theater company in order to stage them, which I have been doing for three years.
At the same time, I turned towards a work of collages, which I had already approached in the past and in which I immersed myself again. It is this activity that now occupies most of my time.
My work often revolves around themes related to Women and Femininity.
