Description
This captivating sculpture features a circular disc, seemingly carved from elegant, smooth stone. Its judiciously arranged concentric patterns evoke hypnotic ripples on still water. The disc's apex is artfully pierced with an opening, adding an intriguing dimension to the work. The finely chiseled texture enhances the visual and tactile depth, bringing the inert material to life. The grayish patina lends a mystical and timeless appearance, while the discreet pedestal ensures ideal display. This piece offers a fascinating dialogue between the simplicity of geometric forms and the complexity of natural textures. It captures the essence of movement while remaining still, offering a profoundly meditative aesthetic experience. Its clean lines and well-balanced structure demonstrate impressive technical mastery, making this piece unique and unforgettable.
Sequoia essence - metal base.
Presentation
Working with wood means working with a living material that has its own history. Find the right essence, the one that will speak to us, find the technique, the one that will adapt to it, blend into it to magnify it and make it vibrate. This is the quest of my approach. The one who is passionate about the journey and not the result…
In my creations, I wish to keep this link to the natural beauty of the material to be able to dive into the waves of the annual rings, to find the force of the elements there and to place my personal story there so that it resonates with this raw material, which she sings a dual score.
Working with wood is for me an ode to nature, to the elements, to the living; where man finds his place, in a wave that goes beyond him.
