Description
This bold digital artwork, created with LEGO bricks on wood, reinvents pixel art. A face, both vibrant and fractured, dominates the scene. Multicolored squares form a vibrant patchwork, capturing the blurred and fragmented essence of a contemporary subject. At the center, a bright red lollipop draws the eye, adding a bold and symbolic contrast. The turquoise background evokes a serene sky, amplifying the vividness of the main subject. Warm and cool hues are juxtaposed, creating a striking visual dynamic. This work skillfully blends the nostalgia of pixel art with contemporary energy, while also prompting reflection on identity in the digital age. Each square seems to tell a piece of a complex story, inviting contemplation on the fragmentation and reconstruction of the image in the modern world. A pixelated masterpiece that captures attention and stimulates the imagination.
Presentation
“Replacing the aerosol can with the Lego brick is my challenge.
As a child, I was fascinated by the small colored brick with multiple combinations, giving me the impression of being able to build the world, my world. With adolescence, the brick was wisely stored in the attic, thus allowing me to discover other mediums such as the spray paint, a new universe then opened up to me. Graffiti became a game, just like Lego had been. The game of cat and mouse braving the forbidden; a game of creation and harmony when it is expressed on fresco but the thorny question of the medium of creation arose: Can we transcribe a graffiti on canvas? It was through my reflections that I fell back on the bricks of my childhood and the desire to make them live differently.
Brick has everything graffiti: acidic colors like those of the bombs that I love, an impressive size range like the caps that will serve as brushes for my aerosol lines ... And an almost unlimited creative capacity ...
From my first 3-dimensional tests to my Lego canvas creations, I try to give graffiti its playful side.
Graffiti is a Child play ... »
