Description
This sculptural masterpiece in gleaming gold captures the essence of modern elegance. Its fluid, dynamic curves, finely polished, reveal exceptional technical mastery. The luminosity of the precious metal contrasts superbly with the dark background, creating a captivating interplay of light that immediately draws the eye. The abstract structure evokes a sense of movement and vitality, defying traditional rigid contours. This stylistic singularity embodies a fusion of contemporary art and classical craftsmanship. Each facet reflects light differently, offering a constantly evolving visual experience depending on the viewing angle. The work, both bold and sophisticated, celebrates the timeless beauty of the material and pushes the boundaries of contemporary sculpture through its complexity and innovation.
Presentation
Ophelia Jacarini is a French artist born in 1991, based between Paris and Hong Kong. With a classical dance background, her practice stems from a childhood revelation inspired by the work of Maurice Béjart, sparking an obsession with movement and its disappearance. Trained in fashion design and fine arts, she has developed a multidisciplinary practice (sculpture, painting, photography, installation) that explores themes of time, memory, and identity. Since 2017, she has been conducting research projects that have resulted in exhibitions in galleries and institutions such as the CICA Museum and the Zeitz Cape Town.
