Description
This sculpture represents a bear in a contemporary pop style, entirely covered with a mirrored gold metallic finish. Its deliberately endearing silhouette contrasts with a multitude of conical spikes and gold rivets that cover its entire body, creating a visual tension between softness and danger.
The ultra-glossy treatment acts like a mirror, capturing and reflecting light as well as its surroundings, which gives the work a particularly spectacular presence. The ears, arms, legs, and torso are entirely dressed in these metallic reliefs, bringing rhythm, texture, and depth to the composition. The eyes and snout, smooth and polished, reinforce the character's expressiveness while accentuating the contrast with the protruding elements.
Both playful and provocative, this sculpture diverts the comforting image of the teddy bear to make it an object of desire with rock and luxurious accents. Its aesthetic, mixing pop culture, contemporary design, and street art influences, makes it a strong piece that immediately attracts the eye and becomes a real focal point in a interior.
Presentation
Santicri was born in 1992 in Macerata, in the Marche region of Italy. Trained as a surveyor and then as an architect, he developed a sensitivity for forms, structures and materials at an early age. This technical rigor, combined with a boundless imagination, naturally led him to sculpture.
Driven by a profound creative freedom, Santicri explores matter, movement, and texture. His works reflect a constant dialogue between construction and emotion, precision and spontaneity. Each piece is born from a poetic impulse, an intuition that the artist shapes to achieve the perfect balance between form and sensation.
Through his work, Santicri invites us into a colorful and sensitive universe, where modernism meets the sweetness of dreams. He seeks to convey what his eyes perceive beyond the visible: a subtle harmony between poetry and structure, between gesture and thought.
