Description
This sculpture adopts the universal form of a wrapped candy, here reinterpreted in a glossy black version with a decidedly contemporary character. Its apparent simplicity contrasts with the power of the symbol it bears: the Porsche crest, discreetly affixed to its surface, immediately evokes the world of performance, prestige, and the automotive dream.
The deep black and lacquered finish enhance the piece's elegance, while the candy's tempting silhouette introduces a playful and nostalgic touch. Poised between object of desire and childhood memory, the sculpture blurs the lines between luxury and pleasure, humorously questioning our relationship with iconic brands and symbols of success.
Minimalist yet striking, this creation transforms a simple candy into a true pop icon, where indulgence meets mechanical excellence in a dialogue as unexpected as it is captivating. ✨
Presentation
Orvalis, born in 1968 in Rhône-Alpes, is a self-taught artist whose world unfolds exclusively through sculpture. Working with resin with an almost instinctive precision, he shapes forms that are both playful and striking, where the material seems to capture a moment suspended between irony and desire, between apparent lightness and deeper reflection.
His approach, free from any academic constraints, is rooted in a spontaneous, visual style, nourished by contemporary codes and the symbols of our time. Everyday objects are reinterpreted, repurposed, and elevated, subtly shifting from the familiar to the iconic. They thus become fragments of pop culture, revisited with elegance, where humor converses with a form of almost luxurious sophistication.
Each piece by Orvalis embodies a delicate duality: between indulgence and prestige, between accessibility and desirability. The resin, which he masters with finesse, becomes a true language—a medium where brilliance catches the eye while the volumes invite a more intimate interpretation. Through his sculptures, the object is transformed, transcending its primary function to become a presence, an emotion, a strong and instantly recognizable visual signature.
