Description
Exclusive to Belart Gallery.
This striking artwork is a dynamic sculpture characterized by its interwoven, sinuous forms. Crafted in a vivid teal material, the piece presents an intricate network of looping curves and elongated spirals, capturing the viewer's attention with its rhythmic fluidity. The structure stands confidently on a bold, deep red base, creating a vivid contrast that enhances its visual impact. The sculpture's intertwining design elements evoke a sense of movement and harmony, suggesting themes of growth and interconnectedness. The elevated, swirling forms reach upwards, giving the impression of organic growth. Its abstract nature invites diverse interpretations, from natural forms to calligraphic influences. This artwork stands as a testament to modern sculptural innovation, with its compelling blend of color and form driving a narrative of elegance and complexity.
Presentation
Once settled in Marrakech, in this ochre city that has seen generations of calligraphers flourish, Abderrahim Hamza develops his art and quickly invests in some of the most coveted exhibition spaces. While he follows in the footsteps of a great ancestral tradition, the artist also demonstrates openness in his aesthetic choices, drawing inspiration from the shared Arab, Andalusian, Jewish, and Amazigh cultures. Always open to new ideas, he employs techniques and artistic choices marked by a powerful breath of creativity and innovation.
With great consistency and beautiful regularity, Hamza unfolds a skill imbued with generosity and warmth, making this contemporary calligraphy particularly striking.
