Description

Patinated Bronze

Bob Tonic transforms one of the most powerful symbols of confrontation into a universal message of hope. In , the boxing glove—marked by the passage of time and engraved with the word LOVE—becomes a metaphor for resilience, vulnerability, and emotional strength.

Far from celebrating violence, the sculpture questions the battles we choose to fight. The weathered surface evokes memories, scars, and lived experiences, while the enduring bronze elevates these marks into symbols of permanence and transformation. Love is presented not as weakness, but as the greatest force capable of overcoming conflict.

Balancing Pop Art aesthetics with contemporary sculpture, Bob Tonic combines the familiarity of an everyday object with a deeply symbolic narrative. The work invites viewers to reconsider the values of courage, empathy, and reconciliation in a world often defined by confrontation.

Cast in patinated bronze, the sculpture showcases subtle tonal variations and a richly textured surface that enhance its expressive character while highlighting the timeless nobility of the material.

A poetic and thought-provoking artwork, reflects Bob Tonic's artistic vision: transforming iconic objects into contemporary symbols that resonate emotionally while inviting reflection on the human condition.

Presentation

Bob Tonic explores contemporary popular culture through sculpture, image and visual concepts.

Drawing from the collective imagery of advertising, fashion, luxury, street culture and art history, he takes familiar symbols and shifts their meaning through humour, contradiction and unexpected associations.

His work plays with what we think we already know. Icons are displaced, enlarged, polished, stripped back or confronted with another visual language. Behind an immediately accessible aesthetic lies a recurring question about desire, status, freedom and the images that shape our lives.

Colour, material and finish are central to his practice. From highly polished surfaces to radical monochromes and vivid fluorescent tones, each work is conceived as a strong visual object — seductive at first sight, but rarely as innocent as it appears.

Bob Tonic develops a universe somewhere between Pop Art and contemporary sculpture, without nostalgia and without taking either art or himself too seriously.

Ironic. Iconic. Chic.

And when something seems impossible?

Seriously?
