Description
Handcrafted sculpture on Lecce stone, designed and created by artist Andrea Serra. The sculpture "Amid the Waves of Sunset," like two waves meeting in the last moments of light, the forms wrap themselves in a delicate and timeless embrace. The work is entirely done by hand on this stone which is found only in a very few areas of southern Italy, namely in lower Salento in the province of Lecce. This particular stone of marine origin, rich in plant and animal fossils dating back several million years, makes it suitable for processing details.
The sculpture "Between the Sunset Waves" like every work by Andrea Serra, being hand-carved, is unique and signed in engraving by the artist.
Presentation
Andrea Serra is a sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as Ville e Casali. Serra cites nature and its forms as always having fascinated and inspired him.
He also allows himself to be overwhelmed by emotions and feelings, which is another source of inspiration for his pieces. He exclusively employs stone found in the lower part of Salento, which is rich in fossils.
