Description
In this work by Vincent Duchêne, a small one-eyed figure raises its arms in a joyful and instantly engaging pose. Its turquoise-blue finish, carefully rendered central eye and crocodile emblem come together in a playful pop sculpture with a distinctly unconventional character.
The artist reinterprets the visual codes of popular culture and consumer branding, creating an object positioned between contemporary sculpture, design and urban art. The figure's enthusiastic gesture contrasts with the highly graphic treatment of the composition, giving the work a strong and memorable identity. The oversized eye becomes its central feature, suggesting curiosity, wonder and a humorous observation of consumer society.
With its compact scale and vivid colour, the piece can be incorporated easily into a contemporary collection. Displayed on a desk, bookshelf, console or pedestal, it introduces humour and energy into both residential and professional interiors.
Presentation
From the age of 14, with a welding machine and old rusty parts, Vincent Duchêne gives free rein to his imagination.
Self-taught sculptor who collects what you no longer pay attention to, he brings pieces of metal back to life that become unique works of art. You will then take another look at these pieces, which will have a second, much more noble life.
His works are filled with emotion, sometimes very colorful. Each of them is unique. You will discover contemporary works, always imbued with the sensitivity and soul of the artist.
Making his Minions out of fire extinguishers made him a successful artist.
