Description
This sculpture diverts an ephemeral object to fix it in matter. The white ceramic imitates the lightness of a balloon. The contrast is established with the appearance of golden graphic patterns.
The artist appropriates the codes of luxury to mix them with pop imagination. This dialogue between childhood and prestige questions our relationship to desire. The piece plays on the tension between the apparent fragility of the inflatable and the hardness of the material.
The precise work of the acrylic emphasizes the glossy aspect of the surface. Each symbol is arranged with rigor to recall the aesthetic of fashion houses. The object becomes a contemporary artifact.
This wall creation is part of a current where fashion meets urban art. The structure ends with a delicate knot, anchoring the object in a trompe-l'œil realism. The whole rests on a neutral background which accentuates the brilliance of the gold.
Presentation
MVR (Massimiliano Ventura Rigante) was born in Turin in 1991.
He has always been passionate about drawing and at these twenty years he began an artistic career. Mainly engaged in painting, his subjects are cartoonist and Disney comic book characters, which he skillfully mixes with the most iconic luxury brands. Continuous research which reveals how much the human soul always needs our childish side, made of dreams and pleasure, the same which, when we grow up, makes us desire "the good life". Currently its market is international.
