Description

Supreme Robotcat: Orange Cybernetic Maestro by Hiro Ando embodies the vibrant expansion of the Neko Sculptural Symphony: Claws of Legends series, where feline mythology meets futuristic imagination.
Hiro Ando, founder of the Japanese studio Crazynoodles and a leading figure of the Nippon Neo Pop movement, has created a universe where iconic characters bridge tradition and digital culture.
This monumental sculpture, standing 100 cm tall, is crafted in luminous orange resin, immediately capturing attention through its radiant presence.
The glossy surface amplifies reflections and enhances the industrial precision that defines Robotcat’s sculptural identity.
In this interpretation, the vivid orange tone suggests vitality, innovation, and the constant movement of contemporary urban life.
Robotcat appears both playful and monumental, balancing toy-like simplicity with powerful sculptural impact.
The compact, frontal posture reinforces the impression of a mechanical guardian emerging from a futuristic narrative.
Ando’s stylized forms deliberately evoke collectible figures while transcending them through scale and craftsmanship.
The sculpture reflects the artist’s fascination with robotics, manga culture, and the evolving relationship between humans and machines.
The absence of excessive detail allows volume and color to dominate the viewer’s perception.
Robotcat becomes an emblem of Neo Pop aesthetics, merging industrial perfection with emotional resonance.
The Claws of Legends series presents feline figures embodying diverse cultural archetypes across eras and imaginaries.
This orange version radiates optimism and warmth while preserving the cybernetic aura central to the character.
The polished resin finish demonstrates Ando’s technical mastery and his capacity to transform synthetic materials into expressive sculpture.
Robotcat’s closed eyes evoke introspection, contrasting with the energetic chromatic presence of the figure.
The sculpture invites viewers to reconsider how pop culture icons shape contemporary visual identity.
Each color variation of Robotcat offers collectors a distinct psychological and visual experience.
This piece highlights Hiro Ando’s talent for creating instantly recognizable characters with enduring sculptural value.
Supreme Robotcat confirms Ando’s role in redefining Japanese Neo Pop sculpture on the global contemporary art scene.
The work stands as a fusion of playful design, monumental scale, and conceptual reflection on technological culture.
It represents a compelling opportunity for collectors seeking a signature piece within Hiro Ando’s evolving sculptural universe.

Presentation

Hiro Ando was born in 1973 on the island of Shikoku in Japan. Hiro Ando started his career as an illustrator in 1995. In 2005 he founded with Saori Nakamishi an artist studio in Tokyo to manage the creation and promotion of other young neo-pop artists who express their own popular culture in their creations. Today the studio "Crazynoodles" has ten artists.

Hiro Ando is a versatile artist. He works in oil on canvas, digital media or video. His technique consists of making several sketches before painting on canvas. The painting shapes itself and emerges in the streets of Tokyo at night, and combines lots of colors and graphics. Hiro paints dark cityscapes and goldfish all over the canvas.

The marriage of the two subjects makes the whole of the painting dynamic and violent, with a strange feeling of eternity given by the goldfish which recall old Japanese paintings and watercolors. The sculpture is a recent addition to the media used by Ando, who started working on a series of orange, green sculptures ... inspired by Japanese popular culture. Thus the cat, which is a lucky charm in Japan, like the Maneki-Neko, takes different forms such as the samurai or the sumo wrestler.

The artist translates this theme into a modern style. The shiny and smooth materials, the vivid colors, the brutal but rounded shapes of Hiro Ando's sculptures take us to the world of manga in which the artist's generation grew up. Hiro Ando's art is the meeting between the Meiji era and Manga, he is Shogun in the world of Pokemon, he is traditional Japan seen through the eyes of young people: he certainly belongs to Japanese neo pop art.
