Description
This striking artwork features a central dark mass embedded with numerous nails jutting outward like a menacing modern totem. The spherical form, resembling a virus or an abstract asteroid, is mounted atop stacked transparent glass blocks, adding a juxtaposition of fragility and strength. Each nail piercing through the mass creates a dynamic interplay of shadows and angles, emphasizing chaos yet precision. Beside it, a smaller, spherical object with protruding elements mirrors the design, reinforcing the theme of duality. The rugged texture of the central sculpture contrasts sharply with the smooth, polished surface below, evoking a dialogue between roughness and refinement. This piece powerfully conveys themes of conflict and resilience, while the clever use of everyday materials elevates it to a thought-provoking masterpiece. Its bold, unconventional design invites contemplation on the complexities of the natural and industrial worlds.
Presentation
Kat was born in artistic family where her grandfather and father are artists; particularly, father Oleg Zhivetin is an active artist in the United States. She was assisting father for a several years and have learned different mediums. Then she went back in Moscow and continue her artistic path.
Kat likes to experiment with different materials including natural such sand, rocks, animals remains. Her sculptures can be made of artificial and natural stuff at the same time. Often, she paints abstract compositions, but also speaks the language of geometry and unknown landscapes.
