France • 1975
Presentation
Born in 1972, RNST is a French street-artist and graffiti poster artist.
He has been experimenting with canvases since 1990's, the artist took over the streets with his friend Cynik to express his committed art. He used all sorts of techniques: graffiti, posters, collages, stencil.
Influenced by rock, his artistic style is a mix of provocation and romanticism. In order to create his works, the artists is inspired by current events.
At a first glance, his creations give the impression as if the elements don't have any link whatsoever, but in fact the artist has carefully combined symbols in order to create a well-built critique. However, RNST doesn't want to give us the key, as he wants the spectator to question and come up with his own analysis.
In this sense, his support is in keeping with his themes as his works don't belong to him anymore and are public property.
During the 2000's, RNST draws away from the street in order to reinvest even more 2009 onwards. Side by side, the artist also creates works on canvas and other recovered mediums.
