RNST - I like a fight - (2017)
RNST does not hit twice.
With , the artist transforms a masked character into a true Street Art icon. Fist pointed towards the viewer, determined gaze, monumental typography and comic book aesthetic: everything contributes to create an image as provocative as it is effective.
An original screenprint from 2017, signed and numbered 5/12.

There are works that decorate a wall.
And then there are those that look directly into your eyes.
With , RNST delivers an image that is at once provocative, ironic, and terribly graphic. Facing the viewer, a young masked character adopts a defiant posture, fist pointed towards us.
The message is immediate.
“I like a fight."
But behind this apparent provocation lies all the language of RNST: that of the street, the poster, graffiti, and popular culture, détourned with humor and an extremely controlled aesthetic.
AN IMAGE THAT DOES NOT LEAVE YOU INDIFFERENT
The character occupies almost the entire composition.
His gaze, his mask, and especially his fist projected in the foreground give the image a particularly striking depth.
RNST plays here with the codes of popular imagery and the superhero.
The character seems at the same time:
hero, hoodlum, rebellious child, and comic book icon.
On the left, the monumental graphics reinforce the Street Art identity of the work while the inscriptions disrupt the traditional reading of the image.
The gaze circulates between the face, the fist, and the typographic fragments.
Everything is thought out to produce an immediate visual impact.
A FIGHT AS LANGUAGE
With RNST, violence is not necessarily to be taken at face value.
It becomes a graphic language.
A way to provoke.
To make smile.
To question.
And above all, to awaken the viewer.
The character faces us as if he were coming directly from a movie poster, a comic book, or a wall covered in graffiti.
But the real subject may be elsewhere:
Who is the real hero?
The one who hits?

Presentation
Street actor and screen-graffiti artist since the mid-1990s, fan of alternative cultures, RNST explores and has fun with urban art in forms as diverse as graffiti, poster creation, collage and stencils. From 2009 he officially reinvested in the streets around intense work with stencils and gluing of screen prints. His workshop is a street outpost in which he mixes recipes, colors and genres. RNST's speech and work are imbued with two constants: provocative and romanticism. This graphic activist reminds us that current events and public space must not escape us and this is where the artist comes to position himself.
