Christophe Charbonnel, born in Nantes in 1967, is a renowned French sculptor celebrated for his monumental and innovative sculptures. With over 20 years of experience, Charbonnel began his artistic journey in 1995, studying sculpture at the Duperré School under Philippe Seené. Initially a cartoonist at Walt Disney Studios in Montreuil, Charbonnel transitioned to full-time sculpture in 2002, when he decided to pursue his passion and move with his family to the Yvelines. His unique sculptural style, rooted in the technique of working with profiles, has garnered widespread acclaim. Over the years, his works have been featured in numerous exhibitions and are part of both private and public collections globally.
Charbonnel's career has seen impressive growth, particularly with his monumental sculptures. Notable artworks like "Colossus" and "Warrior" have earned international recognition and are highly sought after by collectors. His sculptures can be found in prestigious locations such as the Ritz in Paris and the Four Seasons in Cannes, while his public commissions, including a fountain and a Christ sculpture, have expanded his influence in the public art sector. Businesses looking for large-scale, impactful sculptures have become key clients, driving increased demand for Charbonnel's distinctive works. His ability to create sculptures that blend modernity with classical forms has made him a leading figure in contemporary French sculpture.
In 2011, Christophe Charbonnel was honored with the prestigious Fondation Taylor award, cementing his status as a prominent artist in the sculpture world. With his works continuing to be displayed in global exhibitions and commissions steadily increasing, Charbonnel's influence on modern sculpture is undeniable.
