Presentation

Claus Costa (Rio de Janeiro, 1971) is a Brazilian artist. Creativity and freedom have dominated Claus Costa's life ever since his aunt taught him the basics of art at a young age. His paintings are always built up from drawing and become colorful and lively with every brush stroke. Due to his technical painting skills and use of color, he knows how to create energy and emotions in his work.

Colorful pop art from the 1950s is brought back to life in the works of Claus Costa, but with his personal touch. Costa's mind is a rollercoaster of ideas and influences. With bright colors he depicts powerful and often clichéd icons from history, such as Marilyn Monroe, Maria Callas and Jim Morrison.
