Biography
Margaret Nangala Gallagher is an Australian artist, born in 1942 and lives in Yuendumu, a little community of aboriginal artists, located 300 km from Alice Springs in the central desert of Australia.
She paints according to tradition and style which belongs to her community and the inherited drams of her ancestors, therefore linked to her region especially Yankirri Tjukurrpa. She paints with artists who are part of the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation since 2007, an art center located at Yuendumu, who have been providing the residents of Nyrripi with painting material since 2005.
Side by side of her painting activity, she studies at Batchelor College in Alice Springs, while working at the Center for Women at Nyrripi.
