Description
This work emerges at the intersection of a personal journey through Italy and the universal image of the garden as a space of harmony and inner order. The Mediterranean garden here is not a landscape, but a considered environment in which body and consciousness exist in a state of calm, balance, and clarity.
Within the painting, the garden functions as a metaphor for an ordered world — a space where nature and the human presence coexist in quiet agreement. Fruit trees filled with light and warmth evoke ideas of abundance and vital force, of continuity and the cyclical rhythm of time. This is a space shaped by attention and care, a symbol of inner balance achieved through presence and acceptance. Soft yellows and ochres, deep greens, and the orange glow of mandarins create an atmosphere of warmth, protection, and the generosity of earthly gifts.
The Mediterranean character of the work reveals itself through its tempo. Summer light, a restrained palette, and the calm physical presence of the figure give rise to a state of relaxed contemplation — that rare feeling of summer calm when the inner world becomes audible. Italy exists here as a sensation: warmth, shade, silence, breath.
On a symbolic level, the garden may be read as a personal Eden — a space of safety, serenity, and repose. Presentation
Olena Kishkurno was born in Ukraine in 1976.
She graduated from Kharkiv State academy of design and arts with a master's degree as a restorer of easel and monumental painting. Since 2022 lives in Germany. Â
Olena is an artist who explores the changes in humans resulting from the clash with the digital world, their integration into this realm, and subsequently, the loss of connection with their original essence.
The main mediums are painting and graphics. Works with oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media.
