L'amour Court Les Rues

Born in: 1967

France

Translation in progress

Born in Paris in 1967, photographer, creator of diverse magasines such as Fais Netour and Pit-Bull Posse, street artist, Wilfrid aKa is a polymorphic artist.

He starts his career as a fashion photographer, and is Jean-Daniel Lorieux's assistant. Together they brought light on numerous nineties supermodels.

In 1991, by a hazardous moment, life brings members from the NTM band on his path. They offer him to create their album's sleeve, « Authentik ». He then flirts with Rap's and Hip Hop's worlds.

From gueta, Wilfrid strides along Parisian streets with two or three Molotow in his pocket, seeking for the perfect place and moment.

His revelation happened after seeing a negative comment on a Parisian wall : « Love is dead ». He takes is pen and adds « L'amour court les rues / Love runs in the streets ». From this moment, those words have never left him and became his universal catch phrase filled with hope and promesses.

He then walks around the streets, bars, cul-de-sac to spread his citizen's mission : L'amour court les rues.

Wilfrid is captivated by the city, its inhabitants, its unusual objects left behind. He transforms them thanks to his poetic language. His name and his art are all over the city : from wagons taken every single day, to his favorite streets in Paris.
