Yan Zoritchak

Yan Zoritchak is a glass makes, born in Slovakia in 1944.

He studied at the Decorative Arts School in Bratislava before joining the Applied Glass School of Zelezny Brod. He finished his course at the Applied Arts School in Prague.

Glass art is in full swing, with Bohemian glasses from Prague, very well known those days. This leads to freedom for creation and is therefore encouraged, for the industrial production but also architecture.

1970 onwards, Yan Zoritchak moves to France. He is fully acknowledged for his talent and is nominated as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1987.

Extremely committed to his research, he also participated in the launching of the art center, Centre International de Recherche for glass and visual arts, now located in Marseille.

During his career, Yan Zoritchak participated in more than eighty personal exhibitions throughout France and abroad and his work is especially present in several public collections around the world, in Australia, Belgium, Hungary and Japan.
