Pintada

El graffiti tag ocupa un lugar singular dentro de la cultura del graffiti como la forma más inmediata y esencial de la escritura urbana. 

Reducido a una firma estilizada, surgió en las calles de Nueva York a finales de los años 60, impulsado por una lógica de identidad visual, territorio y reconocimiento entre pares. Lejos de ser un simple garabato, el tag constituye un sistema gráfico completo, regido por códigos estrictos: el estilo de las letras, la fluidez del trazo, el dominio del gesto y la capacidad de dejar la marca en espacios inesperados definen el estatus y la reputación de su autor dentro de la comunidad.

A través del ritmo, la repetición y la ocupación del espacio público, explora la noción de presencia y visibilidad urbana, al tiempo que influye de manera duradera en numerosas prácticas contemporáneas, desde el street art hasta la tipografía experimental. Figuras como Taki 183, considerado uno de los pioneros del tagging en Nueva York, y más tarde Jean-Michel Basquiat, que trasladó esta energía gráfica a las galerías, ilustran la trayectoria de una práctica que pasó de la calle a los espacios institucionales.
