His style is defined as abstract impressionism, other experts define him as a modern impressionist. The author's paintings are distinguished by bright colors applied in layers with a brush and spatula. The preferred materials for work are oil paints on linen canvas. The paintings of Peter Tzekov are owned by private individuals and companies from Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland and the USA.
Here is what the artist shares about his work:
"My work is based on personal impressions of places I have visited. My love for nature is what provokes me to create my paintings, to refract and recreate emotions in colourful compositions. I love the green of the forest, the blue of the sea and its waters. I am also excited by the urban environment, with its small and cosy streets and the traces on the facades left from everyday life. I dream and look for the harmony between nature and people, which I turn into paintings from a fictional world. I like to experiment and I don't limit myself in a specific technique and style. I am driven exclusively by momentary emotions and moods. Sometimes I approach expressively with energetic strokes of the brush and spatula, and other times the approach is calm and casual, with decorative accents. I hope that my paintings provoke feelings and emotions that leave a pleasant and cheerful mood in the viewer."
