Walter Sené

Walter Sené is a French artist, born in 1971.

Inspired by the free Figuration movement, Walter Sené is a painter, graphic and visual artist. He really began painting during the 80's. He tried out all kinds of mediums,to create big frescoes depicting exterior scenes such as night clubs, bars or industrial wastes. A big majority of the decors represented are destined for artistic events and gallery exhibitions.

Today, he gives importance to canvas.He paints characters in acrylic, like heroes from graphic comic books, sometimes childish. He doesn't use many colors, but they are pure, bright and contrasting. His strokes are rapid, sharp and certain, leading to immediate and spontaneous painting.

But Walter Sené doesn't only create paintings. he also creates totems or true ritual statues. Through assemblies inspired by raw art, he creates these with the help of recovered disparate elements. This way, Walter is able to combine the requirements of a pictorial and visual tradition, through urban dynamic and movements, during this beginning of this century.
