Biography
Born in 1971, close to Barcelona, Marc Prat is a painter and engraver. He began painting at 24, and did his first public and personal exhibition six months later in 2001. Besides from being an artist, he is a musician, he plays the double-bass and guitar, but he also worked as a photographer, journalist and professor throughout his career.
His mother, Rosa Codina-Estève not only influenced his life but also his painting. The latter was a professor at the Fine Arts University in Barcelona. she taught him the basics of art history and artistic practices. Marc Prat's artistic universe therefore draws inspiration from his mother and the two evolve together.
Another constant source of inspiration for Marc Prat are physical or imaginary landscapes, that are projected in his mind, which he tries to transpose in his paintings.
Marc Prat himself considers his painting to be a hybrid, a mix between figurative and abstract, with a direct and constant reference to architecture and symbolism.
The artist has been exhibiting and participating in several international art galleries and contemporary art fairs like AAF of Brussels, in 2016.
