Makinti played a key role in the translation of the Bible into Pitjantjatjara.
Makinti Minutjukur began working with the historic Ernabella Aboriginal Artists' Cooperative in Pukatja as a young girl, when it was still a craft room. She started as an artist, making batik and painting. In 2022, she became the cooperative's president.
Makinti is also a talented singer, a member of the Ernabella Choir with whom she has performed at numerous events, including WOMAdelaide.
His works are included in major Australian public collections such as the Art Gallery of South Australia (Adelaide), the National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne) and the Queensland Art Gallery (Brisbane).
